Yes, it sounds obvious, but you would not believe the amount of times we discover people are not using anti-virus. There are multiple free solutions available, including free trials for the paid solutions. There is no excuse not to have anti-virus.
Password Management
You can implement a password manager to store all your password. Most will include password generators that will generate and save a secure password. Helping you use different password for everything and not having to remember the complex password combinations. Always use capital letters, numbers and special characters. This makes the password very difficult to hack.

It is an easy thing to do, and often forgotten by people. Reviews will give you an idea not only of whether it is trustworthy, but whether it is the right software for you.
