Informed has a long-standing relationship with a major central government client in the transport sector. As part of the legal requirement set out by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) under the CHECK scheme, the client was looking to conduct a full IT Health Check security review of its major national GOV.UK digital services.
The IT Health Check needed to be completed to challenging timescales as part of a wider digital transformation programme.
Informed Solutions reached out to several IT Health Check vendors to select a partner who could best meet its client’s needs.

The Solution
Of the vendors that Informed engaged with, DigitalXRAID brought a fresh perspective, and the flexibility and pragmatism needed to make the exercise as effective as possible.
DigitalXRAID’s IT Health Check service offered the assurance that the client’s digital service would be fully tested to protect against potential vulnerabilities. The IT Health Check covered a broad scope, including 7 web applications, multiple APIs and cloud hosting infrastructure. Both internal and external testing was needed to evaluate security posture and ensure the service was secure by design.
DigitalXRAID worked closely with Informed Solutions and the client throughout the scoping process, offering advice on what should be included to exceed NCSC guidelines.
DigitalXRAID’s NCSC/GCHQ approved CHECK Team Leader led the team of SC level clearance security testers performing the IT Health Check. The team made sure that Informed Solutions and the client were aware of what testing was being actioned, and any emerging findings, at each step of the process.
