The Requirement

ConnectMyApps was founded in 2014 with the purpose of simplifying integration and setting businesses free from manual data entry and inconsistent records. ConnectMyApps is a software integration platform for medium and large enterprises that connects and synchronises data between different business applications, including ERP, HR, CRM, e-commerce, and more

Today, from its offices in Oslo, London and Lisbon, it helps over 1000 mid-size and enterprise customers across Europe make their data flows more automated, secure and timely by connecting the systems they rely on in their finance, sales, marketing, HR and other operations processes.

Information security is paramount at ConnectMyApps. The business ensures that customers can be confident their sensitive data is safe. As part of this commitment to its customers, ConnectMyApps conducts regular penetration testing on its Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) platform, Canvas, and follows cybersecurity best practice to secure the business as a whole.

ConnectMyApps engaged DigitalXRAID to perform the Web Application Penetration Test to identify if any security weaknesses or potential exploitable vulnerabilities were present in the application, API or external infrastructure.

As a first step, DigitalXRAID’s penetration testing consultants assisted ConnectMyApps with effectively scoping the web app pen test. This was to ensure that maximum value would be achieved during the testing time.

DigitalXRAID delivered a thorough Web Application Penetration Testing Service in line with the agreed scope, over several days.

DigitalXRAID used various tools and techniques as part of the penetration test, in line with industry best practice. Testing was performed using an advanced testing methodology, comprised of years of experience and aligned closely with Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) and Open-Source Security Testing Methodology Manual (OSSTMM) and other industry standards.

The team conducted comprehensive tests which assessed the web app from an unauthenticated and authenticated perspective and determined whether the web app could be compromised.
